This has all the ingredients for a great story and was super delicious to read (technically listen to).
Firstly, dragon shifters… Yes please. 😍
Secondly, spicy romance… Double please.
Thirdly, forced proximity… That’ll do it.
This audiobook was a great weekend read since it’s only 6 hours. I listened to it while driving, cleaning, walking, and relaxing before bed. And that was the book gone in 2 days.
What I liked…
Dragon shifters, obviously. I love how there were little signs that Jillian didn’t pick up until later. It was funny following her guesses as to what Bael was.
I love how they bring reality into the magical urban fantasy by working out ways to integrate magical beings with humans.
I love a good magical mystery, and this ticked all my the curious and surprising boxes for me.
What I didn’t like…
It was too short. I mean that as a compliment in that I wanted more on dragon shifters 😍
Final thoughts…
Definitely a great magical mystery and some fun characters. There are more books in the Mystic Bayou series that can be read as standalones.
