Vampires… yes please.
Shifters… yes please.
A Walk to Remember meets The Mortal Instruments meets Twilight.
What I liked…
It was an easy read. Nice length and I just found myself sailing through it.
The world-building was easy to follow while still having an interesting twist to vampires.
I like the flashbacks that show Cas’s past lives as opposed to Damien telling her and the reader everything. It was far more fun that way.
What I didn’t like…
It was a bit slow to get going. Probably could have halved the lead up to the action.
Nobody asked why or how Cas was human this time?
Cas’s symptoms seem to fade in the latter half of the book. I would have expected all the stress to make her worse or for Cole to spill her secret.
It came across more YA than NA which I thought it was. It’s a fine line so I might be being picky.
Final thoughts…
Definitely worth the time , and I will definitely be up for book 2.
