I actually read this last year but wasn’t posting reviews then so I may have forgotten bits. This book is a YA fantasy about human/angel hybrids. It’s similar to The Mortal Instruments and Zodiac Academy, which are exactly my kind of stories.
Emberly grew up in foster care until she ended up on the streets at 17. She’s been plagued by hallucinations and acute migraines for as long as she can remember. When a group of students from an academy for nephalem finally find her, she discovers she wasn’t hallucinating.
What I liked…
Everything.
We have new powers, found family, a prickly love interest, lots of threats.
The characters, though teenagers, are mature for their age so it’s suitable for adult readers too.
Magic is really interesting but not overly complex.
What I didn’t like…
Nothing.
Final thoughts…
OMG I loved this book and can’t understand why I waited so long to jump into book 2.
