Books I read this month…
- To Ashes and Dust (ARC) by Luna Laurier – 4 stars
- Autumn of the Grimoire by J.L. Vamp – 2.5 stars
- A Game of Malice and Greed by Carline Peckham and Susanne Valenti – 4 stars
- An Heir Comes to Rise C.C. Peñaranda – 4 stars
- Supernova by Julie Hall – 5 stars
Mini non-spoiler reviews…
To Ashes and Dust was an ARC, and even though I gave it 4 stars, I was very excited to be part of the ARC team and genuinely loved the book. I just felt it was a bit slow at times and not quite engaging enough for 5 stars.
A Game of Malice and Greed. I felt the same as To Ashes and Dust. Lots to love but pacing was slow for the first half of the book. I loved the characters though.
Autumn on the Grimoire unfortunately wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. Some parts dragged and some parts felt rushed and it just felt boring most of the time. I almost DNFed it, but it picked up just enough for me to keep reading.
An Heir Comes to Rise had a very tense romance which I really loved. And I loved that the MC started off strong. It just lacked the excitement to be a 5 star book.
Supernova. OMG this is probably the best YA I’ve ever read. The tension between the MC and her love interest was top tier and I wished it was NA. But I wouldn’t want to take this fantastic story away from the younger adults by adding something they might not be ready to read in detail.
Books I’m going to read next month…
Most are spill-overs from March because I didn’t read as much as I’d hoped.
- The Fae Princes by Nikki St. Crowe – Just started.
- Until the Last Drop by Kyla Shinder
- Forsaken Thrones by L.L. Stiles
- Broken Bonds by J. Bree
