Rating: 4 out of 5.

This was so much fun. Mistaken identity turns into a deadly game when Rowan gets dragged into the world of demons to find her mother’s killer.

What I liked…

Rowan is definitely interesting from the start and I loved her psycho-analysis of people throughout the book.

Playing two roles was really good to read as she slipped in and out of being herself and Mortana, aka her shadow self. Loved that.

The spice was 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Secrets all around and fun surprises to go with them.

What I didn’t like…

This is hard to explain, but it just missed the 5 star mark because I was happy to read it, and I’m looking forward to book 2, but I didn’t jump straight into it.

Final thoughts…

Definitely worth reading if you like Kingdom of the Wicked, The Bargainer series, and Of Shadow and Moonlight.
